“When would you be ordained as a priest?” In many occasions people ask the seminarians or brothers, and this is a valid question, but it implies years of formation and studies. That is why it is important for our young brothers in formation to prepare well in order to minister the people of God. Their studies can take up to ten years and this also means a great deal of expenses and human preparation.
Manila: 19 brothers in formation
In the territory of Asia there are many young people who would like to become priests, but they cannot afford the high cost of studies. In our different communities in Manila we have 19 brothers in formation. They are taking theological, philosophical studies, spiritual and pastoral formation. They are from different countries such as: the Philippines, India, Indonesia, Korea, Mexico, and Vietnam among others.
A demanding level of studies
Some of these young seminarians and brothers also have to learn English and prepare well in order to pass the admission exam in Ateneo de Manila University, in which the level of studies is very demanding. As you can see the journey to the priesthood can be very long and our brothers in formation need help in order to continue in their passion to serve God at the service of the poor and disposed. We are appealing to your generosity and support for their studies and formation.
