Assumption in the Philippines

The Augustinians of the Assumption (AA), or Assumptionists, is a congregation of catholic religious men (brothers and priests) founded in France in 1845. They came to the Philippines in 2006. Nowadays, AA in the Philippines gather 25 religious of different nationalities.

Our Founder

Man, of action, fiery and brave, Emmanuel d’Alzon was totally devoted to his master Jesus Christ. In south of France, his native region, people used to call him the “saint Paul of the 19th century” or “God’s knight”.

Our Mission and Spirituality

Faithful to their founder and out of love for Jesus Christ, the Assumptionists work toward the coming of the Reign of God in ourselves and around us.

Where we are

Originally founded in France, the congregation is now present in the whole world. It counts more than 900 religious spread in over 120 communities, in over 30 countries (represented in blue on the map).
